Community activist, idea girl, and founder of The Rebel Girl Village (RGV), Stephanie Lankford is a dynamic single mama who loves nature and her two imaginative and free-spirited daughters. In 2017 Stephanie took the brave leap to become a single mother and made the crucial choice to live her life authentically and on her own terms. Without knowing how to make ends meet, she jumped at the chance for connection and community. After speaking with many other single mothers, she realized most of them felt overwhelmed, anxious, and alone. She started envisioning what it would look like if these women lived and worked together as an intentional family to make their lives better, and created the RGV for this need. The Rebel Girl Village is a project near and dear to Stephanie’s heart as she has redefined what it means to be a single mother, and helped others do the same. She is currently searching for a larger property to house four families, now that her dream is expanding and they have outgrown their space.
